'I Love You'

'I Love You' is inspired by the layers of meaning that the phrase acquires in different cultural contexts and different musical densities. The piece is musically structured by 5 distinct types of love derived from Ancient Greek: storgi (στοργή) — motherly love, philia (φιλία) — love between friends, eros (έρως) — romantic love, agape (αγάπη) — love towards everyone and philautia (φιλαυτία) — loving yourself. There are two versions: a spoken and a sung one.

Covid-19 Miniatures

The idea for this cycle of compositions began in June 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic had already reached a fairly advanced stage. Each miniature constitutes a personal interpretation and representation of different aspects and manifestations of the virus. The compositional process combines recordings—both pre-existing and self-created—with conceptual and free improvisation. In my mind, the recordings function as “events” upon which an emotional and musical layer is created through improvisation.

Sappho's Daughters

Sappho's Daughters is a performance which weaves together poetry, music, & dance to explore the depths of the human psyche. Inspired by the poetry of Sappho, the piece moves through desire, grief, vulnerability, fearlessness, and a joyful celebration of love and life.

A landscape of fragments where different art forms meet and overlap. Musicians dance, dancers sing, poets wield silence — inviting audiences into a space of reflection and discovery.
